Shea, Paisley, Kelly & Adam/Princeton Photographer
This is a special blog because it involves some great people who love their dog. Most of you who know me, know I am an animal lover. Especially dogs. I'll start from the beginning back in 2006 when Kelly & Adam first gave me the honor of photographing their wedding. They also did an E Session. I remember it so well because they wanted to bring their best friend along and include him in the shots. I love it when people ask me "do you mind if we include our dog"? Are you kidding?!!! I encourage it!! So we did their E Session with Shea tagging along for the afternoon. A year later their big day came, Shea wasn't at the wedding but he was in their hearts. Fast forward 6 years later I get a call from Kelly telling me of their new baby girl Paisley and how they want a family portrait done. In all the excitement of Paisley, Kelly also had some bad news about Shea. He had contracted a rare virus that was taking away his ability to walk and control his bladder and they wanted a family picture with everyone and especially Paisley & Shea. We found some time in our crazy schedules and were able to do the session. It was on a Sunday. The following Friday Shea had to be put down after 11 great years together. I was so glad I was able to capture them all together and the love they all have. I spoke with Kelly the other night about the pictures and she said how hard it still is. I couldn't agree more. People that have pets realize they become part of your family. They are our best friends through good times and bad and love you unconditionally. We kind of half-joked about people who don't love dogs, we both feel they are missing a large and really special part of life. After all dog is God backwards!! So here is some family love with Shea and his best friends...

Shea hamming it up for the camera.
Had to get a "howl" in there. :)
I left this image un-retouched showing Shea's diaper on. Since he had almost lost control of his bladder he needed to have it on full time. I did retouch it in the rest of the shots...

Paisley showing Shea some love.
My favorite of the day. Love this shot between Kelly & Shea.

Another favorite.
Shea kissing Kelley...

We then headed out to a nearby park for some outside shots with Paisley. Adam's brother came by and picked Shea up and took him home.

Love this image of Paisley.

Jeff... thanks for sharing this touching story with all of us!!!
As a fellow dog lover, I can certainly relate to the pain from losing a beloved "furry child."
Condolences to the family... may Shea always be in your hearts!
